Impresive landscapes and nature mixed with the cultural encounter in the Embera village at the stunning rainforest in Panama
- The guide will pick you up in a comfortable vehicle from your hotel or accommodation in Panama City and after 1 hour by car, you will be at the Chagres National Park, one of the largest rainforest reserves of Panama.
- We take you by car to the end of the road, at a port by the Chagres River, where the friendly Embera people will take you and the guide in a traditional canoe by the Chagres river, the biggest and most important of the 5 rivers providing water to the Panama Canal.
- The canoe ride is a great experience just by itself because you will have impressive views of the rainforest in Panama, 2 Embera villages a lot of birds and keep your eyes wide open as we could spot animals like monkeys, sloths and others.
- After around 30 minutes of canoe ride, we will leave the canoe at one shore of the river, from where we will begin a short hike by a but exciting trail in the rainforest in Panama heading to a breathtaking waterfall.
- After swimming and staying at the waterfall for about 1 hour or as long as you want, we will walk back to the canoe and head to the Embera village.
- Once at the Embera village, you will be welcomed by this friendly Embera community.
- There you will have fruits and lunch while the nocó (chief of an Embera village) discuss with you about their traditions and culture. This will be a special moment when you can also make every question you want.
- This wonderful time is complemented by a walk around the village and be amazed by their fantastic houses.
- Followed by a performance of traditional music and dance, they will show you what to do and then you will dance with them if you wish.
- Finally, you will have free time for you to buy handcrafts and then we will go back to the canoe and head to the port.
- After a day full of adventures, rest in the vehicle in the way back to your hotel or accommodation.
